Unfortunately for us East Coasters, this party planning ridiculousness has made its way to the Big Apple.  While I’m sure celebrities living in New York City are throwing their kids parties that cost a pretty penny, it’s not the kids I’m talking about here.  It’s the pets.

Pet parties are on the rise, especially in New York City.  One wiener-dog dachshund was treated to “balloons…dog-friendly cakes made of peanut butter, yogurt and carob, sipped Prosecco and nibbled on miniature cocktail hot dogs with her 15 canine guests” for her third birthday.

Prosecco?!  Why didn’t these owners go all out and spring for the Dom Pérignon?  And mini hot dogs?  Isn’t that some sort of form of canine cannibalism, based on the name alone?

J.L. and Jackie Redd would call you amateurs.  The Tallassee, Ala. couple and diehard University of Alabama football fans, recently welcomed a baby boy, and dad was given the honor of naming him.

Since other Alabama monikers like Jethro, Tyde (after the UA team) and Saban (after the head coach) were already snapped up by another family of superfans, Baby Redd was given another awesome name.  Hopefully Crimson Tide Redd will never bring a girl who’s an Auburn fan home, because he might be disowned.

When a grown-up Crimson Redd attends UA (because realistically, will his parents let him go anywhere else?), maybe his roommate will be Tré Rivers.

She’s a full week older than her little bro.

Mom Jennifer went into labor with Grace on March 22, giving birth to the tiny preemie 12 weeks before her and her brother were due.  Jennifer’s body stopped labor after Grace arrived, so doctors decided to give Noah more time to grow, and it paid off.  Exactly a week later, Grace’s little brother was born.

Going for bragging rights in the neonatal intensive care unit, Noah weighed in at 2 pounds, 15 ounces, weighing over a pound more than his sister.

Just days before he’s supposed to hop his way down the bunny trail (in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus…not sure how those two go together, but I digress), a New York Easter bunny has been attacked.

Police say the woman inside of the bunny costume was promoting a candy store Wednesday afternoon when her attacker, a 17-year-old boy with blonde hair, slammed the furry female to the ground and then fled.

The attacker, who probably pushes kids to the ground during Easter egg hunts, is still on the loose.

He slapped the innocent McDonalds worker, pushing him to the counter, and then told him, “I’ll be waiting for you when you get off work.”  Click here to find out how he finally got his early morning sandwich.

A normal bucket list might include something like, see one of the 7 wonders of the world, ride a unicycle, appear on “Wheel of Fortune.”  The key word here is normal.

For those who don’t have normal bucket lists, like Patricia Edwards, one item on their death docket might include robbing a bank.

The 51-year-old Floridian decided to rob a Sanford, FL Bank of America because as she told police, “it was something I had on my bucket list… I think everyone should commit a felony have a list of things they want to do before they expire.”  Edwards, 51, also told police the impulse decision to demand money from the bank was because she suffers from bipolar disorder and is also battling leukemia.

When she was arrested three days later, Edwards admitted that her leukemia is non-terminal and she wasn’t taking her bipolar medication at the time.  Still in jail, the sick stick-up artist says she regrets her decision and will “accept and suffer the consequences, whatever they may be.”

One Bolivian mother was 24,000 feet in the air Sunday when her baby decided to make an early entrance into the world on a Transportes Aereos Militares plane.  Even though giving birth on a plane doesn’t sound like the most comfy of places to go through one of life’s most intimate and painful moments, all ended well for mother and baby.  First, as there always seems to be in these cases, a doctor and nurse were on board to help with delivery).

And second, the mother left the plane with a baby daughter, Tami, appropriately named after the airline who staged her birth.  And little Tami is now entitled to free flights anywhere in Bolivia on a TAM plane until she turns 18 (not all airlines offer this incentive for getting on an airplane when you’re 9 months pregnant).  Besides the free flights, mom is probably happy that her daughter also received a scholarship to attend a Bolivian Air Force high school.

Not even a week old and she’s already guaranteed a frequent flyer membership.  Not too shabby.

Waffle House, a chain based in the southern part of the country, offers everything from t-bone steaks and eggs to grilled bacon Texas cheese steak melts.  If you think the perfect way to say “I love you,” is by raising your sweetie’s cholesterol count to unsafe levels, it was the perfect place to celebrate.

The restaurant went red for Valentine’s Day, ditching its usual black and gold motif and setting tables with red tablecloths.  The manager of the Moody, AL, said the tables would be set with candles, while the servers would be dressed in crisp, white shirts.  If you didn’t make your reservations early, you were probably going to be left out in the cold…and that means you probably had to settle for the local McDonalds.
